Jenny Mae ‘N Jerry Wick by Bela Koe-Krompecher and Andy Bennett. Published by Nix Comics

Jenny Mae ‘N Jerry Wick https://www.nix-retail.com/product-page/jenny-mae-jerry-pre-order is a 24-page, black and white, standard size, Rock ‘N’ Roll comic adapted from Bela Koe-Krompecher’s popular blog about lost friends and 90s indie music culture. Illustrated by Andy Bennett and published by Nix Comics.

In this, the third and final installment of the series, the focus is on Bela’s closet relationships, with singer songwriters Jenny Mae and Jerry Wick. The comic begins with Bela’s account of Jenny Mae, a restless soul seeking the comfort of companionship but not the commitment. As Jenny’s story unfolds Bela paints a picture of a woman moved by music but plagued by alcohol. Bela himself appears to be the only stable thing in Jenny’s life as their paths remain intertwined throughout Jenny’s wanderings and downward spiral.

Next Bela recounts his friendship with Jerry Wick and explores Jerry’s musical ambitions and success as guitarist and lead singer of Gaunt. Bela delves into their childhoods and reveals Jerry as a passionate artist that desperately wanted to make a mark in this world, and although he may not have realized, did.
